Why Convert VHS-C to Digital?
VHS-C tapes are a more compact, cassette-like version of VHS tapes that were first launched in 1982. They were typically used in camcorders to record home movies and could be played in a standard VCR with a VHS adapter. VHS-C had a similar video quality to Video8, but a shorter run time, only recording around 30 minutes of footage per tape at standard speed.
The VHS-C video format is obsolete these days. VHS-C camcorders were discontinued many years ago, and the tapes themselves are widely unavailable for purchase. Also, the technology to play these tapes is disappearing. VHS-C tapes also suffer from picture decay due to the magnetic tape breaking down over time, so the longer you wait to transfer them, the worse the picture quality will get when they’re converted.
If you have some VHS-C tapes that are collecting dust in a garage or attic, you can convert VHS-C to digital files, DVD, or CD, and revisit cherished memories for generations to come.
